This record is hypnotic and repetitive, but never boring like so many bad ambient works. Highly recommended to both ambient fans and people looking for a good introduction to this genre. The album has been released by the artist himself through his Bandcamp store under the "name your price" scheme. You can download it there in a variety of formats, including a lossless FLAC version. This release is copyrighted. It has been also reissued by the Russian label USC (United Studios Corporation), under the Creative Commons BY-SA license. Perfect (10/10) This 10 beat track is a result of collaboration between 3 Jamendo artists: Nikila, SaReGaMa and Hamelin Bérengnier. You can find its enhanced version in Triplexity's album Between Light and Shadow. The audio quality of music offered on Jamendo in best case reaches 190 kbps, which is quite reasonable for evaluational purposes but definitely not enough to experience the richness of original sound (1411 kbps). If you'd like to feel how this music sounds for real you can obtain a lossless FLAC versionof this album on my website. Perfect mixture of ambient/downtempo with nujazz and world music. It's very short one-track-album, but the tune is so great, you can loop it and listen for hours without getting bored. Great ethno-ambient. Would be perfect if not for the track no. 3 "Hamagito", which is an older work of KraftiM - based on annoying speeches and not a particularly good tune.

However, the rest is GREAT and I encourage you to check it out - of course only if you're a fan of creative atmospheric electronic music.

terenNowy.live - "Ambientnosc"

Impressive ambient (10/10) Project terenNowy it's an opened collective of creators that spontaneously develop motto: Creation through recreation, or the other way round. Multi-plot and differentiation of artistic statements become an basis for free multiplication of the idea of organics, meaning: each in self direction, but fun is for all. Co-influences and inspirations evolve into unexpected scenography-sound sets, creating the genuine sections such as terennowy.live, terennowy.kids, terennowy.movie and terennowy.art. There is no place for trials, or scenarios - each meeting generates own climate naturally adopted both to space and public, because these two elements are as vital to the project, as the collective itself. We say: interaction is an initiation of the creation. Or the other way round. Ambientnosc (Ambiency) is the ambivalence of the aesthetic tendencies. The oldest instruments of the humankind embraced in the improvisation process with newest technology create the indifferented music.

It is not a secret that ambient is not my favourite genre. Ambient works are often totally boring, because of the false apparent easiness of this genre. Some people think it is enough to break a constant drone with single notes once in two minutes to produce an ambient masterpiece. And in fact, it's quite the opposite. It is very easy to make a bad ambient recording. But it requires plenty of talent to make a good - not boring - ambient work.

The second cause of my somewhat ambivalent feelings for ambient is that these days the majority of ambient recordings are made on a computer, using only electronic sounds. There is nothing wrong with it generally, only that it becomes slightly boring after hearing a hundredth album with similar recycled sounds. One just starts to long for some decent guitar or real drums.

So it feels great to come across such album as this one. Such works convince me that with enough talent, you can make a masterpiece in every musical genre.

This is truly an outstanding recording. It contains improvised ambient music played on real instruments by a live band of very skilled musicians. The songs are full of mysterious strange sounds; very diverse, but never chaotic. All this improvised mess is in fact well thought-out and form a cohesive whole, despite including such different elements as synthetic sounds, reverbed human whispers and folk instruments. So much is happening throughout each track that you are never bored. So if you like ambient and/or experimental music, you cannot miss this one!

The album has been released by MegaTotal.pl, a social financing website similar to Sellaband. You can listen to the full album here or buy a CD for mere 5 euros. Unfortunately, they don't have English version of their website, but there is a Google Translate interface on the bottom of the page. I don't know if it is enough to really use this site without any knowledge of Polish, but I can assure you this album is worth trying. Voai - "Ketanov eff." [EP]

Interesting downtempo (8/10) Beginning electronic music artist from Poland. Voai (Mihail Zarichanskiy, born in Lutsk (Ukraine) on November 12th, 1990) is a one-man project started in the end of 2010. Concentrated on a conception of deep melodic feelings, intellectual sounding of downbeat /// minimal and techno with impurity of dark ambient sounds (mainly, it depends on the mood he is in). Interesting downtempo. Nice sitar samples in the second track, adding ethnic atmosphere. It's a pity there are only two songs here.

Dragan - "Sashka's Song" [SP]

Really successful debut (7/10) Hello This is my first effort, at least as a complete author. Back, in the old days, I used to play drums only... The entire work is done on an inexpensive home equipment, so it may sound a little cheap, but I would really want to hear your opinion on this, whether it's good or bad... This song is named after my daughter's name Sashka (short from Alexandra). She is 5 years old and she is my main driving force. Thank you for listening and for your patience. Well done. Of course, it can be heard that it has been made on a cheap equipment, yet the artist almost managed to mask its limitations. While particular samples sound artificial, they are not so artificial as to completely ruin the whole track (what is not so easy in the genre of electronic ambient folk, which he has chosen). Further, the melody that Dragan composed is simple, yet beautiful, entertaining and atmospheric. And finally the vocals. Both singing and the melodic line are outstanding. Simply enchanting. To sum up, this is a really beautiful gift to his daughter. I would love to hear it re-recorded in a professional recording studio. People would surely think that Deep Forest released a new single.
