Brilliant dark experimental electronica (9/10)
Brilliant dark experimental electronica. Thank you, pan:core. At first I didn't like the cover of "Moonlight Sonata", because of the hip-hop beats in the background. But the ending is so powerful and haunting that I had to revise my opinion. The only track I still don't like is "Intro" - it is just tiring, ugly and, in the first place, doesn't fit the rest of the album. It's like a mole on a beautiful face. Turzbot - "Piso:plax"
11-minute album - 11-word review (7/10)

Turzbot - "Dronerysm"
Very good electronica (8/10)
Very good electronica, highly recommended to all the fans of the genre. It's fully instrumental, with broken beats and influenced by glitch. It's not focused on catchy melodies or beats, but rather on contrasts and creative use of strange sounds. I have only one complaint - it's too short. [Artist's Myspace] |

Monsieur Connard - "Du ciel tombent des cierges"
Great experimental electronica (10/10)
Truly great recording. Broken beats and distorted sounds on a noisy ambient background. So much is happening in these tracks that they could easily fall into chaos. But the artist never loses grip and is in full control of his vision and the resulting creation. Well done! Thanks for sharing this outstanding work for free. The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in mp3 format. [Artist's Website / Myspace] |

Television Tom - "Static Action" [EP]
Two good, one bad (6/10)
This is a 3-track album of 8-bit techno. Unfortunately only two of the songs are good. The track no. 1 is too simple, with a primitive melody - completely devoid of creativeness. But still, I recommend to download and check this recording out, as the remainder of the album is quite the opposite. While still exploring the 8-bit realm, the tracks no. 2 & 3 are highly entertaining, if only someone is able to appreciate the deliberate use of lo-fi samples.

Ralp - "Vruoxoil"
8-bit - only partially successful (6/10)
This is typical 8-bit techno. Unfortunately only partially successful. Some tracks are interesting, well crafted, but others are dull and chaotic, sounding like if samples were placed in purely accidental order. Good ones: 01, 03, 04, 06, 09.

Mikrodepresja - "Static Improvised Soloworks For Non-input Mixer Vol. 1"
Boring glitch-based ambient (3/10)
The owner of the netlabel 49manekinow that publishes Mikrodepresja here must really hate this band. The previous album was packed in a password-protected rar archive (sic!). This one is in wma format. :-/ If you don't like this band - just drop them! ;-P As for the music - this time at least it is possible to listen to them. And it's nothing special, unfortunately (now I understand why the previous album was password-protected ;-> ). It is simple ambient, based on noise and glitch. Totally boring, without any creative ideas, like a recording session of some equipment tuning. Don't waste your time. On second thought, if you're a dedicated fan of noise/glitch, you can check it out. But I am able to find interesting works for me also in this genre. But not this one. The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in wma (!) format. |

Shema - "Shema" [EP]
Great intelligent electronica (10/10)
Great intelligent electronica - very diverse and catchy (in a wicked experimental way). What especially catches attention is very creative use of original industrial samples. There is only one disadvantage of this work - it's too short. The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in mp3 format. |

Nick R 61 - "Time Ime Me E"
Very good electronica concept album (9/10)
Very good creative electronica playing on theme of time and clocks. Reminds me of Jean Michel Jarre in this regard, although musically it's much more modern, of course. Ventolyn And Becotyde - "Audissect"
Great diverse electronica (10/10)
Great electronica album mostly combining breakbeat with glitch. The tunes are well-crafted, diverse and never boring. See also the review at Drop-d music journal. Apart from Jamendo, the album has been released by several netlabels: I won't provide a link to the fourth netlabel as they have only lower quality vbr version. |

Phon - "bSides"
Good intelligent electronica (8/10)
Really fine intelligent electronica. I like all the tracks: 01 - nice atmospheric tune 02 - positively crazy miniature 03 & 04 - intelligently disturbing 05 - pleasant downtempo Just check it out - it's worth it. Previously this album included one more track (as no. 1), which was too repetitive and annoying. The particular elements didn't compose well with the others. They didn't form a cohesive whole. As it has been removed, I raised my rating from 7 to 8.

Nie, dziekuje - "Spacery"
Not so good... (4/10)
It's some experimental ambient. Unfortunately, the experiment has failed. Only two tracks (04 & 06) are listenable, while others are boring, chaotic, without any thought behind them. Not to say about ripping or compression errors present in some places. :-/ The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in mp3 format. |

Lupus - "Obertura"
Great electronica (10/10)

Piece of melancholic, emotional and very interesting experiments straight from Spain. Obertura is an masterpiece work of young artist called Lupus and we are very proud that we can show this debut release to you! This very mature album sounds somewhere between avant garde / idm / glitch / concrete music. Sounds flirt amongst, they brushes, crashes, blend in, connect and melt in sometimes melodic, sometimes unmelodic structures. In few songs you can hear some of live instruments. Would you like to find them?
Great ambient / downtempo / experimental electronica. The artist really knows how to keep your attention, what is not always easy in this genre. The tunes are slightly melancholic, yet energetic. I highly recommend it even to those who do not like such music too much - maybe you will change your mind after this one.

Phon - "Beatles Are Dead"
Better than the original versions! (9/10)
These remixes are amazing. I love the way the artist treated these legendary compositions. Everyone tries to play the Beatles "with respect" and the covers are inferior. But Phon does not have any complexes, he approached these masterpieces with an empty --- err, I mean open --- mind and he won! I love so many ideas on this album. On "Yesterday" I love heavy guitars and growling in choruses - very surprising in a song that was once a ballad. Use of a symphonic orchestra in "Day in a life" may seem a bit strange firstly, but as the track unfolds, you begin to comprehend and appreciate the idea that Phon asked musicians to swap their instruments for this one session. On "Come together" mixing John's & Paul's voices with Britney Spears' "Ooops I did it again" was just another master's move. You feel this tune should have always sounded this way! Yodelling on "Helter Skelter" fits perfectly the awkward German language version of lyrics, autotranslated with Babelfish. The choir of drunken Afghan talibs is a great counterpoint to Lennon's piano played on fast forward on "Eleanor Rigby". I also like their funny English accents and how they replaced "Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door" with "Waits at the window, keeping the head of George W. in a jar by the door". I could go on like this for an hour, there are so many fresh concepts here, giving the listener fresh look on these thousand-times heard songs. One thing I didn't like is replacing the original vocal line with an opera-singing on "Yellow Submarine". But maybe that's because I don't like opera. So, to summarize: Everybody! Please welcome Phon, the remixing master! And I'm waiting for the followup album: "Phon the Rolling Stone" with his versions of Satisfaction, Angie and so on... Maybe with a guest appearance by Kokkaljos? I'm asking for too much, I know... |

Macroform - "Your Heart Is A Transceiver"
Fantastic downtempo/ambient (9/10)
This album is full of fantastic downtempo / ambient tunes. Sometimes a little experimental, but still smooth - no hardcore here. Great catchy melodies, nice soothing atmosphere, fine use of real instruments (or really really good samples). Never boring, like so many bad ambient productions. Just a pure feast for yer ears. Simon says: Check it out now! The highlights include: 1 Cold Day 2 Cool Grass 3 Canister 5 Leaves Fall P.S. Why not 10? 10 is given too often on Jamendo. Note that good albums start at 7... What's use for rating if every album gets 10? |

Grammar - "EP"
Very fine ambient-based glitch (9/10)

With great pleasure we give in your hands debut EP of young American artist hidden under GRAMMAR nickname. Artist penetrates cold and distant areas of idm / glitch / abstract sounds establishing to scapes created by Autechre duo. Grammar ep gives us 20 minutes of highly organised chaos. You may ask: organised chaos? Yes! Ostensible minimalism and freezing cold compositions intertwine with highly extended and complex metalurgical backgrounds, spaces and surfaces. Unequal, rough beat blends with all kinds of cracks, glitches, snaps, clicks and smashes generating unique shape of records created by young American. Grammar first ep is dose of intelligent, melancholic electronics filled with tronic emotions. If you ever saw music in colours, Grammar sounds looks like blue light illuminating digital palettes of ice and mechanical colors.
Very fine ambient-based glitch. Calm and disturbing at the same time. Experimental, yet surprisingly accessible. Highly recommended work.

Galaxykidgamma - "First Days On Earth (And What I Found There)"
Nice minimal electronica (8/10)
Richmond, VA’s galaxykidgamma has the spastic attitude that makes you always love ambient music. He covers such a large spectrum in his new ep “first days on earth (and what I found there)” that you forget it’s five pieces of music. Each track effortlessly slides into the next one, and soon you’re starting it over again.
Each track centers around a particular item he found on Earth. The first being a typewriter followed by a guitar, a cellphone, a sampler, and an NES.
