Very good electronica (8/10)
Very good electronica, highly recommended to all the fans of the genre. It's fully instrumental, with broken beats and influenced by glitch. It's not focused on catchy melodies or beats, but rather on contrasts and creative use of strange sounds. I have only one complaint - it's too short. [Artist's Myspace] |

Fau - "Unwanted Machine Noise" [SP]
Nice techno (7/10)
A short techno tune with mechanical, industrial feel to it. Nicely done - check it out. The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in mp3 format. [Artist's Myspace] |
Rastadeush & Mr. Nooze - "Split"
Mr. Nooze wins (6/10)
Split album consisting of tunes by two electronic music artists - Rastadeush and Mr. Nooze. Each of them is represented by three tracks. In my opinion, Mr. Nooze wins. His tracks are much more interesting, intelligently combining breakbeat, minimal and 8-bit. Rastadeush delivers more straightforward techno, very repetitive and lacking creativeness. Mr. Nooze would get 10 points from me, while Rastadeush only 4. I would love to hear a full length album from Mr. Nooze. The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in mp3 format. |

Rather calm electronica with instrumental part based mainly on breakbeat with some traces of dubstep and downtempo. The half of the album includes female vocals, adding to the dreamy atmosphere and justifying placing this work under trip hop label. Highly recommended to fans of intelligent calm electronica.
The album has been released by the Absys Records netlabel and is available for downloading at the netlabel's website in mp3 format.

Laufer, Daniel - "In Between" [EP]
Very good electronica (7/10)
Very good electronica - nice melodies, good sounds. The only thing I don't like is track no. 6 "Shadows Of The Past". The singing is very very weak, with a terrible accent. I would recommend the author limit himself to instrumental music or hire a different singer. If you like trip-hop and/or downtempo - check it out. You can also obtain a lossless FLAC version of this album from Bandcamp for as low as 4 euros. [Artist's website] |

Residus Plasmiques, les - "Testament des banlieues, le"

Plain simple rock - without any interesting features. Maybe lyrics are interesting (I don't speak French), but musically - an amateurish effort. [Artist's website] |

Residus Plasmiques, les - "Une journee de trop a l'ecole"
Not attractive (5/10)
I don't know how funny lyrics are, but music is definitely not appealing. They should work hard on attractiveness of their music. But if the albums are placed chronologically, a small progress can be seen. Still, it's a long way to the top if they wanna rock'n'roll... ;-) |

Chlopomania - "Lodowisko Remixes"
Be eco-friendly - remix your garbage (0/10)
It's a bland electroclash tune with extremely stupid lyrics that were meant to be funny, but failed miserably. The original mix is accompanied by several remixes of varying, but not so high, quality. It doesn't matter anyhow, because remixing such an atrocious piece of garbage like this one is pointless anyhow and does not qualify for listening. Even one star is too much for this - it deserves 0/5 rating. The album has been released by the 49manekinow.net netlabel and is available for downloading at archive.org in mp3 format. |

Various Artists - "The WIRED CD Rip. Sample. Mash. Share"
Very good compilation (8/10)
This is a very good compilation from the variety of artists, some of which are well-known, like Beastie Boys or David Byrne. The compilation is very diverse stylistically, ranging from hip-hop, r&b and latino through rock to electronica. Most of the tracks are really good - I didn't like only 4 tracks out of 13, so it's a quite nice ratio. Be sure to check it out! The fact that some famous artists support the CC licensing mode deserves the highest praise on its own, of course, and makes it a very important work just because of that. By the way, visit the official website for three more tracks not included on the Jamendo edition. |

TriFace - "3 Saucisses Dans Une Bulle"
A little better than the first album (6/10)
This album is a little better than the first one, but most of the tracks still lack any features that could make them truly memorable. They are nothing more than regular fast and loud rock songs, like so many others being recorded each day. The only tune that stands out of the crowd is "02 - New Bitch". |

apijamm - "Gitarrensolo"
Interesting but unlistenable experiment (5/10)
This is an interesting experiment. The music is extremely repetitive, monotonous and lo-fi. The effect is quite distracting and intriguing. It's of course minimal but because of its repetitive nature it strongly resembles some industrial works, despite using very different technical means. Having said that, I must remind you that it's a musical - not experimental - website. Therefore, I base my ratings on musical qualities of the presented recordings. This album - for me - hardly qualifies as music and definitely is not suitable for repeated listening. Hence the rating. Of course that's just me - if even such artists as Merzbow have their fan base, I'm sure this work may also appeal to a (rather small) number of people. [Artist's website] |

Paraphrasing the "artist" himself, this is motherfucking shit. Definitely not worth any further reasoning. Just go somewhere else, people. SaReGaMa
In Indian music Sa, Re, Ga and Ma are the first 4 notes of Saptak - an octave of seven notes. I guess I picked the nick SaReGaMa because I'm really fond of Indian classical music, which in my humble opinion is the most profound and sophisticated music in the world.
Among the many artists that had impact on my approach to music are : The Future Sound Of London, Union Jack, Shulman, Raja Ram, Jairamji, Nitin Sawhney, Prem Joshua, Thievery Corporation, Prodigy, Jean Michel Jarre and more.
Self taught, I started making music as a hobby at the age 17 using Yamaha CS1, Cool Edit and FL Studio. I had also been playing flute in the Ethnic Rock band "Igra Rama" and done several solo performances for background music in happenings. I had a big passion for music but not enough means to afford musical instruments, so I learned how to build them. Most of the instruments I have are homemade. The instruments I play are : piano, guitar, different kinds of ethnic flutes, didgeridoo, percussions, kalimba and jews harp.
My music can be defined as Organic-Electronic World Fusion. It can be great for background listening but at the same time it's very elaborated and deserves to be listened in a serious manner with full attention. I invest a lot in the sense of ambient 3D space - depth, distances, directions, motions and their dynamics. The tracks are loaded with little details, sounds and stereo effects. To experience them fully I advise to set your speakers as wide as possible (4 meters at least recommended) and sit in the middle in front of them, in equilateral triangle pattern. Headphones are not good for this kind of music. Although they provide additional details they fail to convey the sense of depth.
Some tracks contain up to 80 channels and comprise irregular beats of 1.5 - 2.5 - 3 - 5 - 6 - 7 etc. So listen carefully, try not to miss it.

SaReGaMa - "Spirits Of Ancestors" [EP]
Very fine dark ambient (8/10)
This album is slightly different than other SaReGaMa's works - that is for sure. But, firstly, different does not mean worse. This recording is of equal very high quality. And secondly, this difference is not so big. Therefore, in my opinion, there is nothing to justify the harsh and dissapointed review of KraftiM and people who agreed to his review. KraftiM's arguments are absurd when one takes into consideration that he likes other works of SaReGaMa. He was nearly put asleep? This album is far more varied and dynamic than e.g "Bodhi Tree". It is "darkish experimental"? What a crime! Is it bad to experiment? Should all SaReGaMa's albums be identical? Is all dark music bad, simply because it is dark? Should all tunes in the world be full of pink fluffy bunnies and shiny happy faces? THIS would surely put ME asleep. KraftiM complaints about "annoying crickets"... Hello, anybody home? Aren't sounds of nature one of the most common and widely used features of ambient music? The tuba-like flute fits the other elements perfectly. And so on... So, to sum up, this is a very successful attempt at creating slightly more dark music, in accordance with the title. When you close your eyes you can almost feel those spirits gathering around you, which is the clearest evidence that SaReGaMa succeeded in what he had planned. Thank you for sharing your beautiful music. One thing I don't like is the fourth track, but the reason is it is too short, so the tune doesn't last long enough to develop properly and listeners don't have enough time to feel the mood. The album could end after the third track. You can also obtain a lossless FLAC versionof this album from the artist's website for a small donation. |

Ex Animo - "Sentience"
Modern hard rock masterpiece (10/10)
The most popular tag that journalists use for such music nowadays is "nu metal". I hate this label because it is meaningless and stupid - what "nu" would tell the listener in year 2030? So let's say this is just a hard rock album heavily influenced by metal and grunge. This work should be attractive to fans of such bands as Disturbed or Godsmack. Especially Disturbed can be pointed as a very direct influence. This is not bad though, as not every one is able to come up with breakthrough achievements. We need also talented artists who can successfully build upon the grounds discovered by their predecessors. And Ex Animo have built a massive fortress here. This is a flawless work, catching your attention from the first sound. It is full of great melodies, power and energy, decent instrumental and vocal work from all the band members, powerful riffs. Production is good, the vocalist is able to deliver English lyrics with a very good accent (for my non-native ear, of course, but so many non-English bands fail so miserably at this point that even my ears hurt). I won't mention any particular songs, because they are all top quality. This is definitely the best hard rock album I found on Jamendo to this date. GO GET IT ASAP! |

MuzaOla - "MuzaOla"
Not worth a listen... YET! (5/10)
Violin playing over primitive disco beats. Firstly, these electronic backgrounds are of rather poor quality. And secondly, they do not correspond well with the foreground violin. It works slightly better only in track no. 3. Of course one could also accuse her of total lack of originality (think of Vanessa Mae), but that's not a problem for me. There is a room for both of them on a musical scene. :) However, this girl is only 16 years old! And this album isn't in any way a disaster comparable to so many pieces of garbage you can encounter on free-music websites. She seems to have a genuine talent, if she is able to create such work now. So I keep my fingers crossed, because in a few years time she may become an outstanding artist. Keep up the good work, Ola! |

SaReGaMa - "Three 4 Ten" [SP]
Perfect (10/10)

Sullivan, Mark David - "Moje ogrody"
Not very good electronica (4/10)
The most of the tracks contain very cheap "plastic" ugly samples. Further, the melodies tend to be rather primitive, sometimes even balancing on the verge of disco polo (the most primitive type of the Polish disco music), like in "01 - Tanczac z gwiazdami". Plastic guitar samples present in most of the tracks do not help much and the result is light years from true rock music, despite of use of "guitar" riffs. The genres that fit best here are synthpop and space music, but this is a weak effort, not worth any attention - there's too much really good electronica around, even here on Jamendo. If you really must, check out "05 - Lustra" - this track is a little better than others. The album has been released on Jamendo and is available for downloading in mp3 or ogg format. |

TriFace - "Premiers Jets"
A solid piece of hardcore (6/10)
A solid piece of hardcore. But nothing more. It lacks any distinctive features that could distinguish this effort from so many similar works. It will probably appeal to dedicated fans of hardcore, but for me it was a little boring, despite being very good from the technical point of view. The best track is no. 4 - Apologies. If only the rest was as energetic as this one... |

Z.o.Z. - "Morfina"
Not bad, but not very interesting either (5/10)
Mix of rock, trip hop and post rock with Polish lyrics. It's not bad, but at the same time not attractive enough to keep my attention focused. They claim they like to experiment, but I didn't hear many experiments on this album. I didn't find catchy melodies either. Lyrics? Correct, but forgettable. Vocals? Your ears won't hurt but nothing more. Gloomy atmosphere? Present, but I wasn't carried away. To sum up: if you like the genre, you can check it out, but don't expect a masterpiece.
