Narcissus and The Fools - "Servants of The Plastical Omen"

Extremely amateurish rock (2/10)

I tried. I really tried. I even listened to all the songs (skipping only some of them after a minute or two). Call me a hero. Because almost everything is so wrong on this album that it's almost unlistenable.

The singer's voice is bad, he sings out-of-tune and what he sings is only loosely connected to the accompaniment. Speaking of which, all the instruments are playing whatever they like, not paying any attention to the others, so combined within a single track, they do not form a cohesive whole. The result is a total chaos. Apart from the vocals, the drums deserve special mention for being particularly bad.

To summarize, even these two points are given on credit. Why? Maybe because I feel the artist put much work into this recording (not like so many others, who mercilessly publish raw results of their 15-minute sessions of making accidental noises). Because I see they really try to make these songs interesting and atmospheric (to a disastrous result, but at least they try).

Try harder next time, guys. Much much harder.

The album has been released on Jamendo and is available for downloading in mp3 or ogg format.
